Autoyhtiö Teslalla julkisti viime neljäksennen tuloksen eilen. Oleellisimmat luvut olivat:
Liikevaihto: 13,757 mrd dollaria, joka on 57 % enemmän kuin vuosi sitten.
Liikevoitto: 1,618 mrd dollaria, joka on 389 % enemmän kuin vuosi sitten.
Lisäksi ns. sääntelyhyvitysten määrä laski 279 miljoonaan dollariin. Hyvitysten osuus liikevaihdosta on tippunut viimeisen vuoden aikana, samalla kuin yhtiön kannattavuus on parantunut. CNBC:n mukaan, yhtiö ylitti lievästi Wall Streetin odotukset:

The company reported $1.62 billion in (GAAP) net income for the quarter, the second time it has surpassed $1 billion. In the year-ago quarter, net income was $331 million.
The record results were driven by improved gross margins of 30.5% on its automotive business and 26.6% overall, both of which are records for at least the last five quarters.
PayPal haluaa ostaa Pinterestin
Bloomberg raportoi, että maksupalveluntarjoaja PayPal olisi lähestynyt sosiaalisen median yhtiö Pinterestiä ostotarjouksella. Ostohinta olisi raportoinnin mukaan 45 mrd dollaria, toteutuessaan kauppa olisi vuoden suurin teknologiasektorin yrityskauppa. Bloombergilta:
PayPal Holdings Inc. is exploring a $45 billion acquisition of social media company Pinterest Inc., in what could be the biggest technology deal of the year and move the payments company closer to its ambitions of becoming a “super app.”
San Jose, California-based PayPal recently approached Pinterest about a potential deal, said people with knowledge of the matter, who asked not to be identified because the details are private. The companies have discussed a price of around $70 a share, the people said.
That would value Pinterest at about $45 billion for the entire company, including its Class B shares, and would represent about a 26% premium to Pinterest’s Tuesday closing price.

Bitcoin teki uuden hintaennätyksen
Mainitaan vielä, että bitcoinin hinta teki uuden ennätyksen eilen. Yhden bitcoinin hinta kävi peräti 66,685 dollarissa. Viime aikaisen hinnan nousun takana katsotaan ainakin osittain olevan tämän viikkoinen bitcoinfutuuri-ETF:n lanseeraaminen. Coindeskiltä:
