Apple työstää Apple GPT:tä
Bloombergin Apple-toimittaja Mark Gurman raportoi, että Apple olisi rakentanut oman chatbotin yhtiön sisäiseen käyttöön, jota on yhtiössä alettu kutsumaan Apple GPT:ksi. Apple on lisäksi rakentanut oman ohjelmistokirjaston isojen kielimallien rakentamista varten, nimeltä Ajax, joka on ilmeisesti rakennettu Google JAX tekoälykirjaston päälle. Apple Inc. is quietly working on artificial intelligence tools that could challenge those of OpenAI Inc., Alphabet Inc.’s Google and others, but the company has yet to devise a clear strategy for releasing the technology to consumers.
The iPhone maker has built its own framework to create large language models — the AI-based systems at the heart of new offerings like ChatGPT and Google’s Bard — according to people with knowledge of the efforts. With that foundation, known as “Ajax,” Apple also has created a chatbot service that some engineers call “Apple GPT.”
In recent months, the AI push has become a major effort for Apple, with several teams collaborating on the project, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the matter is private. The work includes trying to address potential privacy concerns related to the technology.

Beyond the state of the technology, Apple is still trying to determine the consumer angle for generative AI. It’s now working on several related initiatives — a cross-company effort between its AI and software engineering groups, as well as the cloud services engineering team that would supply the infrastructure for any significant new features. While the company doesn’t yet have a concrete plan, people familiar with the work believe Apple is aiming to make a significant AI-related announcement next year.
Meta julkaisi Llama 2:n

Microsoft paljasti tuottavuus-Copilotin hinnan ja osake teki hintaennätyksen

I think in general, what we found in SMB vertical SaaS is there's usually one system that's more important than the others. And maybe there's two.
Maybe there's one at the front office, where revenue comes in and maybe there's one at the back office, which reconciles all the financials to pay bills and to file taxes. But generally, there's one system, people call a system record, system engagement, we call it control point because we want to capture this idea of data gravity. It stores the most important data of workflow gravity. It's what you do to get things done, it's what you're engaged with every day and finally account gravity, which is the simple stupid question or idea that if you have to turn off every system as you were to go out of business, what was the system you would turn off last, and that's sort of your account gravity, that's another indicator of control point.
This is the system that powers your business. In that way, if you own that and occupy that space, it gives you lots of opportunity to do more for your customer and expand your offering. That's what we tend to mean when we say vertical SaaS. And to your point, there's a wide range of actually end markets that might cover and a wide range of business models as well.
